No more single ladies

I can't believe that it has already been three weeks, but three weeks ago at this time I was dancing the night away at my sister's wedding. Yes, the third and final Guevara girl has taken a new name. It could not have been a more perfect day. It was emotional and so much FUN!!!! I am just sad that I have no more sisters to marry off. I love them so much, and I am so excitied for the next chapter in all of our relationships as husband and wives, and sisters!

9 months old

It almost pains me to say that my buba is nine months old. It is so crazy. He went to the doctor today and everything is perfect. He does have an unusually large head, but he is his father's son, so it was to be expected. He measured in at 22.9 pounds and 30 inches. He is also doing many new things. He says mama, dada, dog, and ball. He is also waving a lot and starting to blow kisses.

AND finally, finally, he got his first tooth!!!! One day shy of nine months it broke through. He is more than I could ever imagine and hope for, and I can't wait to see what he does next.

A little sad to say goodbye

I have to admit that I am a little sad to say goodbye to 2010. Some monumental things happened in my life, and good or bad, it was an amazing year. Obviously we welcomed our wonderful Christopher into the world, but as I sit here it is hard to imagine that part of the past year was spent without him out of my belly. I know it is so cliche, and it actually pains me to say this, but time goes by so quickly! We spent 2 years trying to have a baby, and it was like being in a world where other things happened, but it was like they were fuzzy or on mute because the only thing we were focused on was trying to complete our world. So there went 2008 and 2009, and now here we are at the beginning of 2011, perfectly content with the world :)

So for no other reason then that I can look back and actually remember what happened to me in my life when I am old and have no memory left, ( who am I kidding. I already have no memory), a little year recap.

January
Can't hide it anymore! This is me on 1/15/2010, about two weeks after I was taken by ambulance from work to the hospital for heartburn. Long story. Everyone at work new after that episode.

February

I turned 28. No pictures of that sad day :)

And we began turning a room in our house from this
To this
March

Was a very difficult month. We lost my Grandfather, and it was really hard for everyone in my family. He was a force! And we miss him all of the time.
We also were able to celebrate life with a baby shower for, at that time, Baby ?. Yes we were those annoying people that would not tell people the name, mostly because we hadn't figured it out yet :)
We also welcomed a new member to the family: my new camera. March marked life A.C. , After Camera. It is amazing and I am a little addicted to it.

April
We celebrated another monumental occasion, my sister's Bridal Shower. With a month to go in my pregnancy, I played hostess, with major help from my mom and whit, to Keely's friends and our family to celebrate her upcoming wedding.
Here is Whitney and I resting and plating with baby Christopher after the shower.

Also April 16th was my last day of work for 4 blissful months.

MAY

WELCOME CHRISTOPHER WILLIAM POMPEY JR. This month my life changed forever.

I walked into the month like this
and left with
...our beautiful boy!

And 20 days later we were hereAt my sister Keely's wedding! I know. 20 days later. I remember running out to the motor home where Chris's parent were with the baby, before the ceremony, right after the ceremony, and during the reception to feed the baby. It was so stressful at the time, but funny to think about.

June
Baby's first Wine tasting trip.

July
Baby's first trip to the beach

August

First trip to the Zoo

September

First day away from Mommy, because I had to go back to work :(

And a night away when Chris and I attended my 10 year High School Reunion. Yikes!
Going back to elementary school with this photo!

October was pumpkins
November was turkey, and San Diego, and a first Carousel ride at the wild animal park!
And December was....Beer.
GRANDPA!!!No, it was lights, and trees, and presents, and family, and friends, and Santa, and magic, and happiness.

It was a dream come true! Here is to a wonderful 2011!

"DADA"

Christopher said "Dada"! He looked right at Chris, reached out to touch his face and said it. I am not going to lie, I am a little jealous that it wasn't mama, but it was still such a sweet thing to witness!!!

A Wonderful Christmas

We had such a wonderful Christmas this year. It has been a really long time since we have had any little ones at Christmas time, and it was so much fun for everyone. On Christmas Eve we spent time with my aunts, uncles, and cousins. It was a little bittersweet seeing that it was our first Christmas without our Grandpa with us, but it was still so nice to all be together and to get to enjoy our new addition to the family. He was scooting all over the place :)

On Christmas Day we had a great breakfast with my parents and sisters and brother-in-laws. And, oh the presents. Since we are all older we don't really do presents anymore so everyone was so excited to buy for little Christopher. He didn't really get the concept but he is really enjoying his new toys. He also got a lot of new clothes. I was so thankful for that because he has literally grown out of everything!!!!!! All of his new clothes are sized 18 months. Yes, my 8 month old baby is getting 18 month old clothes. Most of them leave plenty of growing room, but he wore one of the shirts today and it fits!

On Christmas night we went to Chris's parents and had a really nice quiet dinner. It was a nice relaxing end to a busy couple of days.

I am proud to say that the decorations are down and all of the loot is organized and put away. It was a wonderful first Christmas for our family, and I am so excited for the many more to come.

I hope everyone had a wonderful day!

Dress up

I never really played with dolls or barbies. I was a little tomboy, so you would never find me playing dress up when i was younger. But I sure love playing dress up with my real life baby doll :)

WOW!!!!

So I have always heard that having a baby, working full time, and trying to have a life is hard, and before baby days I would have acknowledged that I could imagine how hard it would be, but I never thought it would be this tough. I am having a lot of fun but currently I am working full time, I am in a Master's program, and every spare minute I have I want to spend with my wonderful boys. It definitely make for a full and busy life. I wish I could keep up with this blog, but currently I do not know how that is going to be possible. So, a quick update.
